Sandi Toksvig
Broadcaster, Writer, Comedian and Gender Equality Champion

Sandi Toksvig OBE is a renowned Broadcaster, Author, Comedian, and Campaigner. She was born in Denmark and spent her childhood years in Europe, Africa, and the United States. She began her career whilst studying at Girton College, Cambridge where she wrote and performed in the first all-women Footlights show and she was a member of The Comedy Store Players, an improvisational comedy team, for many years. She continues her live performance career with regular tours and shows around the world. Her most recent shows being One Night Only, Next Slide Please, and National Trevor. On our screens we have seen her lead celebrated series such as Call My Bluff, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, QI, 15 to 1, and The Great British Bake Off. As an author, she has written more than twenty fiction and non-fiction books for children and adults alike. Her most recent book, Friends of Dorothywas released in 2024 to huge critical acclaim. Sandi is a huge champion for LGBTQ+ rights and gender equality and last year was a Q+ Fellow at her alma mater, Cambridge University, developing a project titled Mappa Mundi,an interactive digital resource that documents the position, achievements and struggles of women across the globe.
